I was reading this great post by Melonking on why it's so important to have a Links page on your site, and I got inspired to add one to mine.
Website Development
- 11ty
- A simple, but powerful static site generator. I use it for a lot of my side projects, including this Neocities site. It's good, but I don't recommend it if you're still a beginner at HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Zonelets
- A simple blogging engine. I personally don't use it but I've tried it out a little bit and it seems like it's perfect for beginners. I've heard great things about it.
- Neocities
- Free static website hosting with an okay amount of storage.
- Utopia
- Generate fluid type/space scales. Lets you have spacing/font-sizing that scales with your browser window's width. This is extremely useful if you plan on making your site mobile-friendly.
Images + Editing
- Photopea
- A powerful web-based photo editor somewhat similar to Photoshop
- Pine Tools
- Perform very basic, limited actions on images. Perfect when you're feeling lazy and only need to do something simple, like display two images side-by-side
- Ezgif
- Make and edit GIFs and other image files
- Subtle Patterns
- Simple patterns for backgrounds
- Subtle Patterns Bookmarklet
- Quickly check how a Subtle Patterns pattern looks on a website
Other Software
Aimed at Windows users.
- Greenshot
- screen snipping tool
- Monitorian
- lets you adjust the brightness of multiple monitors without having to mess around with physical buttons
- Equalizer APO
- Customizable equalizer for Windows. Very useful making annoying 'mouth noises' more tolerable, though not perfect.
Background Noise
For my fellow misophonia/tinnitus-sufferers.
- Rainy Mood
- Rain sounds with a lot of variation and minimal repetition
- Hourly Animal Crossing Music
- Plays music from Animal Crossing
- MyNoise.net
- Customizable soundscapes
